In addition to being a Textile Artist, Marquetta also works as a Teaching Artist with the High Museum of Art- Atlanta, The Museum of Design Atlanta, The Fulton County Teaching Museum, Utah State University- Arts Access Program and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. 

She also teaches independently with schools, civic organizations and community centers.

 

Marquetta has been in the classroom practicing Arts Integration and Arts Inclusion for over 20 years offering instruction in Textiles (Hand Dyeing, Hand painting, Printing and Stenciling), Mixed Media Applications and Quilting.

 

She specializes in ways to bring textiles into the classroom using them to create interdisciplinary activities that support learning in many areas, such as Science, Math and the Humanities. Marquetta enjoys working with students of all ages and all abilities. She is available for arts residencies, workshops, and professional development sessions with educators and administrators. Marquetta also does Artist Talks, Trunk Shows, and Textile workshops for Quilt Guilds and Civic Organizations.
